6.1 #20 Comparing Fractions

How do we know that: 1/4 < 2/7 < 1/3

If we have 7 pieces, 1/4 of 7 is (1 3/4), so: 1/4 = (1 3/4)/7 < 2/7

If we have 7 pieces, 1/3 of 7 is (2 1/3), so: 1/3 = (2 1/3)/7 > 2/7
